Join us as we learn a little bit about the history and significance of the hand drum with our resident Elder Carol Fraser. In this workshop we will be processing white tail deer rawhide into hand drum skins by cutting and stretching them over prepared wooden frames. The workshop will also include constructing an accompanying drum stick. Attendees are strongly encouraged to attend a second date for a "drum awakening' ceremony to learn some songs and make sure that each drum is created in a good way that honours our protocols.
